An external session to talk about the health reality

Within the activities of active citizens, and to reach more marginalized groups of the population. Mary Development held an outdoor session in Muizilah village to talk about the health situation in Deir Ezzor and to know the opinions of citizens and measure satisfaction about the services provided.

A large number of IDPs live in the mwazila as a result of their vulnerability to the situation in the area, but the aforementioned village suffers from an almost complete lack of services.
The health services provided are through a health center that lacks the cadres and the main departments of gynecology and children, in addition to the fact that the center does not provide services except during the official working hours, so the ambulance cases are carried out in areas not close to Muhaimidah or Kasrah.
Likewise, the area does not have safe drinking water, and thus the medical risks and diseases caused by the lack of drinking water increase.
The area also lacks medical equipment, medicines in general, snakebite vaccines, leishmaniasis medicines and other medical supplies, as is the case in most areas, due to the lack of resources of the Health Committee.
There is also a place for throwing oil waste near the area that causes environmental damage and disease demonstrations resulting from this pollution.
The medical needs are increasing in the region in light of the presence of COVID-19 cases in northeastern Syria and the low health awareness of a large proportion of citizens.
It is worth noting that the population of this region reaches 40,000 people, according to residents’ estimates.
